Whether you're a seasoned juicing enthusiast or just getting started, our list will help you find the perfect juicer to meet your needs.

We'll list our top recommendations for:

Types of Juicers

There are two main types of juicers used at home: centrifugal and masticating.

Centrifugal juicers are the most common models which use a spinning blade to chop up fruits and vegetables into a pulp. The pulp is then spun at high speeds to extract the juice. These juicers are generally less expensive and faster than masticating juicers. However, they can produce less juice and can be less efficient at juicing leafy greens and wheatgrass. They also tend to be louder and may not preserve as many nutrients due to the high speed of the blades.

Masticating juicers, also known as cold press or slow juicers, use a slow, grinding motion to extract juice from fruits and vegetables. They can handle a wider variety of produce, including leafy greens and wheatgrass, and produce a higher yield of juice with more nutrients. However, they are typically more expensive than centrifugal juicers and can take longer to produce juice. They also require more cleaning due to their complex design.

Overall, the choice between a centrifugal and masticating juicer comes down to personal preference and priorities. If you prioritize speed and convenience and mostly juice hard fruits and vegetables, a centrifugal juicer may be the better choice. However, if you want the highest yield of juice with the most nutrients and don't mind spending a little more time and money, a masticating juicer may be the way to go.

TipCandi Note 1: Where to Start

If you're new to juicing, we recommend starting with a centrifugal juicer and then upgrading over time to a masticating juicer. Or you may like to start with one of the top budget models.

As for manual citrus squeezers, we do not recommend the painted models as the paint tends to chip. Go for the stainless steel models.

TipCandi Note 2: Customer feedback

Most reviews mentioned the following tips for all models. We concur with these tips based on our own tests:

  • Add a small plastic produce bag as a liner inside the pulp bin so you can lift and throw away the bag with the pulp.
  • Clean the juicer as soon as you finish juicing.
  • Not all models are dishwasher safe, so check for details when buying.
  • Although drinking fresh is optimal, time contraints may only allow for batch juicing, which is still perfectly fine. Batch-juice the night before, or the morning of, and store the juice in 8 oz glass jar containers in the fridge. Drink within 24 hours.
